A 20 year old Wodonga man who held a knife to a terrified woman in Wangaratta’s Big W carpark and stole her vehicle last year has been jailed for at least more three years.
Joel Butler appeared in the County Koori Court last week for sentence, after pleading guilty to numerous charges relating to theft, obtain property by deception and aggravated carjacking.
Judge Irene Lawson remarked when sentencing Butler, that the incident was a serious example of carjacking and had very serious consequences for the victim, who thought she was going to die.
