DROUGHTS, heatwaves and high temperatures are forecast to last longer and become more prevalent according to a draft 10-year Climate Adaptation Plan the Rural City of Wangaratta council has released for public consultation.
Temperatures currently reach 35 degrees Celsius for nine days a year in the rural city but this is expected to increase to 20 days by 2030 and 29 days by 2050.
