GWEN Wagstaff is Wangaratta’s newest centenarian.
The local resident at Respect St John's Aged Care was born in Derbyshire, England on August 27, 1924, and migrated to Australia with her husband Harvey as ten pound Poms in 1948.
They lived and worked in Melbourne for 40 years and during this time would make weekend camping trips to the North East and Painters Island Caravan Park in Wangaratta.
