Our driest start to August in 30 years

THE first half of August has been very dry over most of Victoria.

Wangaratta with only 5.4mms until 9am last Friday recorded its driest first half of August since 1994 whilst Rutherglen had its driest such period since 1948.

Benalla with only 2.2mms and Albury with only 1.4mms both recorded their driest first half of August since 1944.
