Healthy native fish numbers in Ovens River

WANGARATTA Landcare and Sustainability (WLS) has been assisting scientists monitor fish numbers in the Ovens River over recent weeks.

Scientists led by Dr Jarod Lyon of the Arthur Rylah Institute have been electrofishing various sites from Peechelba to Whorouly to assess fish numbers and remove carp following the extended flooding that occurred in late spring.
