VAIL Resorts' staff at Falls Creek have been busy this week planting native habitat to support the local population of endangered mountain pygmy possums.
There are believed to be fewer than 2000 of the small native possums left in the wild.
The tiny possum is Australia’s only hibernating marsupial, living among the rocks and boulders of the Bogong High Plains for up to seven months each year.
