NORTHEAST Health Wangaratta (NHW) has officially gone to 'Code Brown'.
NHW acting CEO Robyn Gillis said the regional health service had notified the Department of Health today of its decision.
Ms Gillis said the decision was made due to the "extreme demand on our service and the ongoing challenge of staff isolating".
"We ask our community to support NHW as some of our non–urgent care will be delayed," she said in a statement Friday afternoon.
"It remains safe to attend NHW's hospital for urgent care.
