AN investigation into the disappearance of Wonnangatta campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay has seen a major breakthrough, after an arrest was made on Monday afternoon.
A 55–year–old Caroline Springs man was detained by police at around 5:30pm on Monday, with an interview concerning the pair‘s disappearance slated to take place this morning.
Police did not confirm whether the arrest was connected to an appeal for information lodged two weeks ago, concerning a blue 1990s model Nissan Patrol seen leaving the Wonnangatta Valley on the night of March 20 last year.
