NORTHEAST Health Wangaratta (NHW) has announced chief executive officer (CEO) Tim Griffiths has resigned to take up a role with NSW Health.
NHW board chair Jonathan Green announced the resignation of Mr Griffiths this afternoon.
"Tim has made an outstanding contribution to the executive leadership of NHW as our deputy CEO over the last six years, and more recently as CEO," Mr Green said.
"We will be very sorry to farewell him.
"Tim was not planning or anticipating leaving us at this point, but an opportunity has presented itself which enables Tim to take on a senior role in the NSW health system as the executive director operations/deputy chief executive of Southern NSW Health.
"Tim will be leaving NHW on the April 2, 2021, and the NHW board are very pleased to announce Fiona Shanks as our interim CEO.
"Fiona is very well placed to provide executive continuity and strong leadership, and her recent experience as the deputy CEO means that she is well briefed on the key areas of focus for our organisation."
About one year ago, former NHW CEO Margaret Bennett also departed to take up the position of chief executive for Southern NSW Health.
