Premier doesn’t rule out a jump to step three if regional average below five next Monday

PREMIER Daniel Andrews hasn’t ruled out regional Victorian communities skipping step two and advancing to step three in the roadmap towards COVID recovery.

Places like Wangaratta are due to go to step two of COVID-19 restrictions effectively from next Monday, however as the progression to step three is not date related but rather when the average number of daily cases is less than five, a fast tracked outcome could arise.

While addressing his daily press conference yesterday Mr Andrews commended regional Victorians but stopped short of pre-empting the possible scenario and he suggested there might be positive cases lurking in communities.
