WANGARATTA’S public hospital is calling on anyone in the region to get tested even if they have the mildest of COVID-19 like symptoms.

Northeast Health Wangaratta has a screening clinic in Norton Street which is open seven days a week, testing people from its 90,000 catchment area and recommends anyone with symptoms to call 1800 324 942 as soon as possible to arrange an appointment.

“We understand that there may be some delays across some general practices in being able to get an appointment for testing due to the current demand of GPs,” NHW chief executive officer Tim Griffiths said.
