Still waiting for $500,000 for North Wangaratta Football Netball Club

FUNDS awarded to a local football netball club worth $500,000 will be rolled out providing Wangaratta council can meet Sport Australia requirements for project delivery, according to the Federal Sport Minister’s office.

North Wangaratta Football Netball Club (NWFNC) has been through years of social and financial hardship due to a lead poisoning fiasco involving contaminated soil, forcing training and match play to cease.

The $500,000 federal grant announced to the club in May 2019 for new netball courts ahead of the federal election has been overshadowed by the coined ‘sports rorts’ scandal, however, the prospective works are much needed to support the longevity of the stoic local club.
