Community directs plans to boost grit, resilience

‘CREATING connections’ and ‘involving and including’ will be the key themes pursued by the local Grit and Resilience Program, in light of Wangaratta community feedback.

Four initial priorities emerged from the first round of community consultation conducted by the program, with a recent survey helping to choose which two of those priorities would be acted upon.

The four-year Grit and Resilience program, which is supported by $1.2 million in Federal Government funding, came about after Rural City of Wangaratta council and the community rallied in 2018 to address the rate of suicide in the district.
