VICTORIAN horses have been banned from travelling across the border to compete in New South Wales effective immediately.

In what could have a significant impact on this year’s spring carnival, Racing NSW updated its COVID-19 regulations on Wednesday due to the spike in cases in Victoria.

“Effective July 8 2020, Racing NSW has prohibited the transfer of horses from Victoria to any NSW racing stable, licensed premises or racecourse,” the announcement said.
