THE team behind the establishment of the Wang Night Shelter have been delighted by the support it has received so far from the community as opening day approaches.

The first of its kind in our region, the volunteer-run shelter near the centre of town will provide a warm and safe place to sleep for local people experiencing homelessness.

Scheduled to open on Wednesday, project coordinator Di Duursma said they are in the final stages of pulling everything together with a steady stream of enquiries received from potential volunteers and training underway, as they navigate the changing COVID-19 regulations.
