Draft Wangaratta Parklands masterplan looks to community’s future

BOLD plans to further develop Wangaratta’s main sport, recreation and leisure precinct into a more cohesive zone over the next 20 years have been publicly unveiled and are poised to go out for further community and stakeholder feedback for the next 60 days.Rural City of Wangaratta councillors are tomorrow night expected to endorse the draft Wangaratta Parklands masterplan, and invite public comment until August 28.The plan includes a raft of proposed short, medium and longer term changes to enhance key community facilities within the 56 hectares of parklands – including the Wangaratta Showgrounds, Norm Minns Oval, WJ Findlay Oval, Barr 1 and 2 Reserves and the Wangaratta Indoor Sport and Aquatic Centre – used by more than 20 sports and community clubs and organisations.
