Improved mobile communication on way in Cheshunt

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Telstra is installing a new mobile tower in Cheshunt South which is nearly ready to be switched on.

RESIDENTS in Cheshunt South have watched a 50 metre crane being used to install a Telstra tower on an elevated site near powerlines in recent weeks.

It’s believed to be part of the State Government’s partnership with Optus and Telstra and its commitment to build 28 new mobile towers across Victoria, as part of round three of the Victorian Mobile Black Spot Project (VMBSP).

Other local sites on the round three list are in the Warby Range (by Optus) and Carboor (by Telstra), with the aim of providing better mobile coverage in more remote regional areas.
