College plans $3m project to improve entrances, traffic

AS it gets set to welcome students back to campus from this week, Galen Catholic College is also preparing for a $3 million revamp of its pedestrian entrances and vehicle access.

The works will involve development of a covered pedestrian walkway with an entrance off Phillipson Street; a new bus drop-off zone on Galen land near the corner of Phillipson and College Streets; and a parent drop-off/pick-up zone off College Street; a staff car park off Park Crescent will also be resurfaced.

“It is quite significant, because we are upgrading every entrance to the school to make it safer,” Galen business manager Emily Hordern told the Wangaratta Chronicle.
