Council strategy moves to give greater focus to pedestrians, cyclists

FOOTPATH networks valued at $1.65 million and bike lanes costing $3.38m are two elements of a new plan that will shift Wangaratta city’s focus, giving priority to pedestrians and cyclists.

The newly adopted Walking and Cycling Strategy 2020-2030 lists a range of Wangaratta central projects over the next 10 years costing an estimated $4.85 million.

Development of a safe link to rural communities is also mentioned with seven projects estimated at $10.255m over the next decade.
