Women’s health body receives extra cash to assist victims of domestic violence

CASES of domestic violence across the North East and Goulburn regions have risen but are also remaining hidden since the COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria.

The Victorian Government has allocated $600,000 with $50,000 of this to be used by Wangaratta’s Women’s Health Goulburn North East (WHGNE) to assist people in the community with mental health issues during this time.

Amanda Kelly, chief executive officer at WHGNE, will meet with the state office of women today to discuss how it will spend the funding in this time of extra need.
