Trainers say racing won’t stop

DESPITE crowds being banned from tracks for the foreseeable future, Wangaratta horse trainers John Ledger and Chris Davis both believe racing will continue despite the COVID-19 outbreak around the globe.

While the majority of all Australian sports at all levels, with the exception of AFL, AFLW and NRL, have been suspended, horse racing continues, albeit without the spectator aspect.

And much like the elite sports still going, numbers of essential staff members have also been reduced as Racing Australia implements measures right around the country.
