CATHOLIC parishioners in Wangaratta will need to “change the habits of a lifetime”, according to parish priest Fr Mike Pullar, as local churches follow new coronavirus guidelines suspending public celebrations of Mass.

A statement from the Catholic bishops of Victoria was issued late on Wednesday calling for the immediate suspension of public liturgies and celebration of Mass, until further notice.

All other gatherings have been suspended, while funerals, weddings and baptisms may be able to proceed with appropriate precautions, such as distancing between participants and limited congregations.
