COVID-19 has forced the Wangaratta and District Cricket Association to cease the remainder of the season with the top team of each grade to be handed the title meaning that Yarrawonga Mulwala has taken out the A grade title.

The cancellation of the season comes after Cricket Australia ‘strongly recommended’ on Tuesday morning that all levels of cricket around the country should be cancelled immediately meaning the Sheffield Shield season was also cancelled and New South Wales were awarded the title.

“Many will no doubt be disappointed that the Sheffield Shield, Premier Cricket and community cricket seasons won’t have their traditional ending,” Cricket Australia chief executive officer Kevin Roberts said.
