KATY Perry wowed a crowd of thousands at her special FIGHT ON concert in Bright on Wednesday evening.

After a fortnight of anticipation, around 6000 people from bushfire-affected communities in Towong and Alpine shires, along with hundreds of emergency services and firefighting personnel from across the North East descended on the town for the international pop sensation’s performance.

The 35-year old superstar from Santa Barbara, outside Los Angeles, said the summer of fires in Australia had “struck a chord in my heart”.
