Local hospital prepared for any coronavirus outbreak

FEAR of a coronavirus pandemic appears to have come to Wangaratta despite no cases of the virus reported in regional Victoria.

The Wangaratta Chronicle understands some supermarket shelves were totally cleared of toilet paper yesterday morning among other non-perishable items, which came after Woolworths and Coles released statements limiting toilet paper packs to a purchase limit of four packs per transaction both in store and online.

Northeast Health Wangaratta chief executive officer Tim Griffiths said the hospital has put a pandemic plan in place and would continue to work closely with government authorities.
