Drier, hotter summer ends

WANGARATTA residents have sweltered through one of their driest and hottest summers on record.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), rainfall for the summer of 2019/20 which ended Saturday only totalled 67.4mm.

That is around half the mean summer total of 133mm recorded over the past 30 years in Wangaratta.
