Nursery helping bring rare native plant species back to life

THANKS to the incredible propogation efforts of Park Lane Nursery staff in Wangaratta, an extremely rare and endangered wattle species only found in North East Victoria will thrive.

Divisional manager Maria Wadley and production supervisor Gianna Kalc have had a key role in helping save the state’s only known ‘narrow-leaved wattle’ population which was discovered by chance at Mount Lawson State Park in 2014.

Ms Wadley said it has been incredible to be part of the project, which is a joint collaboration between Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and Parks Victoria.
