Music teacher is jailed for child sex offences

FORMER Wangaratta music teacher Wayne Robinson has been sentenced to 11 years and six months behind bars for 19 charges relating to serious sexual offences against children.

Victims, supported by family and friends, sat in Wangaratta Magistrates Court on Wednesday where they watched, via video link, the 48 year old father of two being sentenced in Melbourne County Court for his indecent acts and sexual penetration during 13 years of offending against multiple children under the age of 16.

Judge Paul Higham said Robinson’s actions had caused considerable psychological damage to his victims and that he was a ‘serious sexual offender’.
