THE success of AFL women’s football has not only been on the match day battle ground but over the fence as well according to Rovers U17 ladies coach Kylie Barton.

As numbers grow locally, as they are across the nation, more women and girls are benefiting from a positive team environment, Barton said, as well as the physical release contact sports can bring.

Barton coached the U16s last year and will take on the new U17s this season as well as play in the open age team.
