$580k revamp at popular intersection

VITAL works on the Sisely Avenue-Swan Street intersection to create a better surface for traffic and pedestrians began yesterday.

The Rural City of Wangaratta has received $290,000 through the Regional Roads Victoria’s Fixing Country Roads program and a further $290,000 through the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery program to upgrade the intersection.

“The existing road pavement has deteriorated to the point where it requires continual repair and maintenance due to poor subgrade conditions,” council’s manager infrastructure planning and delivery, Marcus Goonan, said.
