WAY TO GO: Stars of Nitro Circus met a stack of young fans at the San Diego skate park as a result of a previous ‘Where to Go Nitro’ competition.

IT’S just over a month until the explosive sports spectacular Nitro Circus arrives in Wangaratta on March 7 and the daredevil athletes who will star in the show are looking for an iconic local location to chill out before the big night.

And they want Wangaratta Chronicle readers to tell them their own favourite spot.

In the past they have visited Old Parliament House in Canberra, Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo and even swam with the sharks in South Africa.

“Nitro Circus’s roots run deep in Australia,” Nitro Circus chief executive officer Andy Edwards said.

“We did our first ever live tour here; we have a cast which includes lots of incredibly talented Aussie riders who fly the flag for this country every time they ride out in front of a packed stadium; and our Australian fans are without doubt the most passionate in the world so the tragic bushfires of the last couple of months have hit us all very hard.

“As we all know, though, nothing can ever break the Aussie spirit and, as a tribute to that, we’re sending a bunch of our guys to Wangaratta early ahead of the show on March 7 for a full week so they can be active in the community, help raise funds, and of course put some smiles on peoples’ faces.”

Nitro Circus has already committed to set aside 200 tickets for local volunteers and their families involved or impacted by the bushfires, as well as make an appearance at a bushfire appeal fundraiser on the morning of the show.

So where do you think these aerial thrillseekers will appreciate best, the Northern Beaches, Merriwa Park or maybe next to Ned’s statue at Glenrowan, or Ryan’s Lookout in the Warby Ranges or even our own skate park?

The winning suggestion will earn its author 4 x VIP Passes to the big night out at the Wangaratta Showgrounds, as well as getting to host the Nitro crew at the chosen activity.

Send your entries to [email protected] or drop them into the reception at the Wangaratta Chronicle at 37 Rowan Street.

The winner will be chosen on February 24.

An additional giveaway competition will run on the Wangaratta Facebook page next week; this is separate to this competition.
