THEY’RE BACK: One of the stars of the Herald Sun Tour back in 2017 when the tour last came to Wangaratta, British cyclist Chris Froome, was mobbed by local school children at the start of the stage which began in Apex Park. The tour returns this Friday when Wangaratta hosts the thrilling finish to stage three.

NATIONAL media exposure and a message “the North East is open for business” will be the delivered when the Jayco Herald Sun Tour’s elite cyclists race to Wangaratta on Friday.

Starting in Bright, some of the world’s best cyclists will endure 178km of sprints and climbs, with the longest stage of the tour to finish at Wangaratta’s Swan Street where people are expected to line footpaths in the afternoon.

It’s estimated the stage three event will bring $110,000 to the region, calculated at 490 visitors spending between one to five nights in accommodation.
