HOMEOWNERS are getting a better deal living in Wangaratta than council areas in the region when it comes to the average cost for annual rates.

Wangaratta compares well at $1825 to average rate amounts of larger cities such as Wodonga $1903, Mildura $1914, Shepparton $1920, and Warrnambool $1920, although Geelong $1585, Ballarat $1695 and Bendigo $1758 come in cheaper.

Other Know Your Council website results for 2018-19 have Wangaratta currently paying a lot more for indoor aquatic facilities, it shows that our city is a leader in the diversion of waste from landfill, and local councillors are more transparent when it comes to decision-making.
