Hazardous air quality expected to improve to ‘very poor’ to ‘poor’ levels

AFTER enduring air quality at hazardous levels from smoke yesterday and Monday, authorities are forecasting Wangaratta will see an improvement from today and through the remainder of the week.

According to the Environment Protection Authority, the city’s air quality has been alternating between moderate, poor, to very poor, up to hazardous for much of the week.

At it’s worst, early yesterday morning, the air quality was almost at 1200, which is three times the hazardous level which kicks in at 370.
