CATTLE sold through Wangaratta’s Livestock Exchange in 2019 were just shy of 2016 throughput figures, with 31,755 head.

The breakdown includes 14,186 store cattle and 15,150 prime, making up a total value of $25,951,368.

Drought has hit farmers hard and although the district’s valleys haven’t experienced the overall crippling effects of the drought experienced in NSW and Queensland, there is no rain in sight.
