WHILE Fire authorities have managed to keep the fire south east of Whitfield within its containment lines, the Buffalo River fire has started to spot in to the top of Carboor and fire authorities are mounting resources to protect assets.

An Emergency Warning is has been issued for Buffalo Creek, Buffalo River, Carboor, Carboor East, Carboor Upper, Dandongadale, Merriang South, Mount Buffalo, Nug Nug, Rose River, Whorouly South.
There is a bushfire in the Lake Buffalo area that is not yet under control.
There are reports of embers falling into the Dandongadale area.
The bushfire is travelling in a northerly direction under the influence of southerly winds in the valley.
Heavy smoke over the entire area will make driving conditions hazardous.
Buffalo Creek, Buffalo River, Carboor, Carboor East, Carboor Upper, Dandongadale, Merriang South, Mt Buffalo, Nug Nug, Rose River Whorouly South could be impacted anytime within the next 6 hours. Leaving now is the safest option, before conditions become too dangerous.
Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.
Authorities have recommended that you Evacuate Now if you are located in Dandongadale, Nug Nug.
There is a bushfire 10km North of Abbeyard
This fire is travelling from Abbeyard in a northerly direction towards Nug Nug.
The fire is currently impacting on Dandongadale.
If you are located in Dandongadale it is strongly recommended that you evacuate now and move to a safer location away from the fire.
An evacuate now warning issued yesterday at 9:27 PM remains in place for those located in Freeburgh, Harrietville, Smoko, Wandiligong and surrounding areas.
There are multiple bushfires burning in the Abbeyard area that are not yet under control.
Victoria Police is providing traffic management support in the area.
A south westerly wind change is moving across the fireground.
The fires remain active and will be monitored throughout the night.
If you are located in Freeburgh, Harrietville, Smoko, Wandiligong and surrounding areas it is recommended that you evacuate now and move to a safer location away from the fire.

A Watch and Act notice issued at 2:37 AM this morning remains current for for Abbeyard, Barwidgee, Bright, Brookside, Buckland, Buckland Junction, Buffalo Creek, Buffalo River, Carboor, Carboor Upper, Dunphys Hill, Eurobin, Freeburgh, Gapsted, Germantown, Harrietville, Havilah, Hotham Heights, Howitt Plains, Kancoona, Meadow Creek, Merriang, Merriang South, Mount Buffalo, Myrtleford, Ovens, Porepunkah, Rose River, Rosewhite, Salt Log, Selwyn, Smoko, Wabonga, Wandiligong, Whorouly South, Wongungarra, Wonnangatta.
A Watch and Act notices remain in place for communities in parts of the King valley.
