Cherry producers painfully watch 30 year labour of love wither away

Mt Bruno cherry orchardists Tony and Marion Rak don’t see much of a future in 2020.

Having spent the past 30 years developing their 8000 tree cherry enterprise, they’re now having to endure the heartbreak of watching it slowly shirvel and die.

“We’ve got no water allocation and our trees are dying,” a frustrated Mr Rak said, walking between the rows of withering trees on New Year’s Day.
