ANY funds raised through their Movember effort has been a bonus for St Bernard’s Primary School teachers Jonothon Holmes-Brown, Gerard Nolan and Peter Avery.

Mr Holmes-Brown said the trio’s participation in the annual promotion, which aims to boost research and discussion of men’s health, had more to do with starting conversations.

“We are in the position of working with young kids who might have a dad or relative who may not want to go to the doctor, and it’s a way for us to talk about the fact that if someone’s feeling sick in their body or their mind, they should seek support,” he said.

“We’re also at the age that we’re starting to lose friends, a lot of them quite young fellas, which is pretty tragic.

“So we looked to use this opportunity to get the message across.”

Anyone interested in supporting the St Bernard’s teachers’ Movember effort is encouraged to visit to make a donation.
