Local CFA volunteers make impact in fire ravaged NSW.

FOR the last two weeks we have seen the terror, tragedy, heroism and sometimes hope felt in country communities in NSW and Queensland under attack from unprecedented bushfires.

It has been a nightmare for residents at places like Willawarren, near Kempsey, which was hit by the fi res on November 8, and nearby Bellbrook.

For Bellbrook resident Narelle Joyce, the situation was becoming increasingly despairing as neighbours lost homes, stock, feed and hope, compounded further with the death of one man caught in the inferno.
