WANGARATTA’S public hospital has recorded its busiest year to date, turning over figures of $148.361 million for the 2018-19 financial year.

Record demand for health services is the reason for a $1.293 million operating deficit announced at Northeast Health Wangaratta’s (NHW’s) annual general meeting this week.

To meet the growing patient demand the city’s largest employer, which services a catchment of 90,000 people, is gearing up for a $33m infrastructure development starting next year.
