Hospital admissions reach all time high at Northeast Health Wangaratta

BUSY: It's been a year of high demand on Northeast Health Wangaratta's services.

PATIENT admissions at Wangaratta’s public hospital cracked the 20,000 milestone in its busiest year on record during the 2018-19 financial year.

Some 26,148 people were treated in the emergency department, 670 babies were born, and there were 588 rehabilitation episodes at Northeast Health Wangaratta.

With an emphasis to treat patients in the comfort of their own homes, NHW recorded 316 visits in 2018-19, following on from a high 318 the previous year.

These and more results will be talked to at NHW’s annual general meeting on Wednesday, November 13 that keynote speaker, former SAS Troop Commander Mark Wales, will also attend.
