AFL NEB dismisses Hawks’ appeal for more player points for 2020 O&M season

WANGARATTA Rovers have been left “disappointed” by AFL North East Border’s decision to dismiss their appeal for more player points in 2020 but remain determined to break into the O&M top five for the first time since 2014.

After initially being awarded 40 points (two more than the league cap of 38), the Hawks, along with Myrtleford, appealed the decisions, hoping to receive similar points caps to the 2019 season.

The Hawks were unsuccessful and will remain at 40 points while Myrtleford had their appeal upheld and will also play at 40 points, having initially been reduced to 38.
