Nationals recharge the Big Buffalo plan

THE Big Buffalo dream has been reignited with the Nationals calling on the State Government to put aside their “no dams” argument and take action.

Shadow Water Minister Steph Ryan (MLA, Euroa) and Tim McCurdy (MLA, Ovens Valley) visted Lake Buffalo on Wednedsay and called for its expansion through a tristate agreement between Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

“What we are calling for is the Andrews Government to refer the expansion of Big Buffalo and its possible connection to Nillahcootie via a pipeline to the Commonwealth water authority that has been established,” Ms Ryan told the Wangaratta Chronicle.
