Four million visitors to region


VICTORIA’S High Country has continued to perform strongly with new State Government figures confirming a six per cent growth in visitor numbers for the year ending June 2019.

Nearly four million people visited the High Country region of Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong and Wangaratta local government areas, including the alpine resorts of Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller.

According to the government, tourists injected $1.3 billion into the North East region’s economy, which was a 22 per cent increase on the previous year.
