Two men committed to stand trial, enter not guilty pleas to killing Nathan Day

THE two men accused of murdering Wangaratta man Nathan Day have been committed to stand trial after they both entered a plea of not guilty at Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Phillip Dunn, 60, and Darcy McNamara, 43, who are both facing a single charge of murdering the 34-year-old in July last year, were present in court for the sixth, and final, day of their committal hearing yesterday.

On Monday, the court heard evidence Dunn had paid a visit to a long-time friend’s house in the early hours of the morning sometime in July 2018, allegedly holding a paint scraper with blood “smeared” across his left hand.
