Improved reception ahead of summer fire season

RESIDENTS in Woolshed Valley are feeling a sense of relief, with improved mobile reception from a new mobile phone tower ahead of peak bushfire season.

The Telstra tower, located on the Beechworth-Chiltern Road, was activated on September 11 and, in conjunction with towers at Eldorado and Beechworth, provides the valley with improved mobile phone and internet coverage.

The tower was erected as part of the State Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program and fills the reception void at the eastern end of the valley.

Resident Wayne Mills said the improved reception was welcome ahead of an expected dry summer.
