Two women were “surprised” by drug cultivating, but chose to stick around

TWO Vietnamese nationals who “stepped over the line” after they found themselves in a drug cultivating operation at a Wangaratta house have been spared extra jail time.

Police executed a search warrant on a Tone Road house on May 16 this year where they arrested multiple people and seized more than 83kg of cannabis.

Trang Nguyen and Nga Nguyen (not related) were charged with cultivate drug of dependence after they were arrested at the residence.

At Wangaratta Magistrates Court yesterday, police prosecutor Andrew Sprague said both women were wearing gloves and face masks with one holding scissors when police executed the warrant.
