    ST Vincent de Paul Society (SVDPS) Wangaratta has experienced a 35 per cent increase in service provided to people with no fixed address in the past six months and in timely fashion, wish to raise awareness for Homelessness Week which begins Sunday, August 4.

    Within the local area, SVDPS has also experienced a 57 per cent increase in cases requiring accommodation cost assistance from January to July this year, compared to the prior six months.

    Having spent more than $100,000 in assistance locally in the last six months, the organisation hopes to raise awareness of homelessness locally, which also includes those couch-surfing, living in their car or inside other insecure housing.
