Tech invention opens door to business opportunities

WITH a little guidance, two local secondary college students have taken an opportunity that fell in their lap just nine months ago and turned it into what they hope will be a successful tech business.

Lachlan Carboon and Ryan Falconer have gone from being year 11 peers at Galen Catholic College to business partners under the name LOCK TECH, after creating a bookable online code access door locking system with the help of Wangaratta’s GOTAFE and Jewellers Coworking.

Lachlan said the project began in November last year when GOTAFE secured a $4000 Summer Tech Live Program grant and approached the pair in the hope they could create technology to solve a door access issue they were experiencing.
