Showgrounds precinct masterplan on the way

A $100,000 council budget allocation will deliver a master plan for the Wangaratta Showgrounds precinct over the next year.

It will be the first comprehensive master plan for the area since the Barr Reserve Master Plan developed by council in 2006, which Rural City of Wangaratta projects and recreation coordinator Brad Gill said would inform the new plan.

Mr Gill said a number of discussions had already been held with user groups based within the precinct, which covers 50 hectares taking in the Showgrounds, WJ Findlay Oval, Barr Reserve and rodeo ground.
